Management Reporting Dashboard

One view of the business everyone agrees on

Sales, operations, receivables and stock in a single dashboard, refreshed automatically, with each measure defined in writing so meetings stop starting with an argument about the numbers.

The problem

What this addresses

Management reporting in most growing businesses is an assembly job: high effort, several days old on arrival, and not fully trusted.

  • Reports take days to prepare and are out of date on arrival
  • Different departments present different figures for the same measure
  • The report depends on one person's spreadsheet knowledge
  • You cannot drill from a summary number into the transactions behind it
  • Problems become visible only at the month-end review

The solution

How it is put together

Automatic extraction from every relevant source into one consistent model, written definitions for each measure, and dashboards designed for how each audience reads: a summary for management, detail and exceptions for operations. Scheduled reports for people who prefer one in their inbox.

What the system contains

Modules are delivered in phases, starting with the one that removes the most work. You own the finished system, code and data included.

  1. 01

    Data pipeline

Scheduled extraction from your source systems with cleaning and failure alerts, so refresh is reliable rather than hopeful.

  2. 02

    Agreed definitions

A written definition for every measure, visible in the dashboard itself and agreed across departments before build.

  3. 03

    Summary and team views

The handful of numbers that matter most for management, readable in under a minute, plus deeper views for sales, operations, receivables and stock.

  4. 04

    Drill-down

From a headline figure to the records behind it, so a question can be answered rather than deferred.

  5. 05

    Alerts

A message when a figure moves outside its expected range, so problems find you instead of waiting to be noticed.

  6. 06

    Scheduled reports

PDF or Excel reports by email or WhatsApp on the schedule you choose.

Fit and options

Who it suits, and how it adapts

Integration effort depends on what each system offers. We assess it before quoting.

Who this suits

  • Owners and management teams making decisions on stale data
  • Businesses with data spread across several disconnected systems
  • Multi-branch businesses needing local and combined views
  • Hospitals, schools and hotel groups reporting across sites
  • Any business where departments disagree about the numbers

What it can connect to

  • ERP and accounting systems such as Tally, Zoho, SAP or Busy
  • CRM and sales systems
  • Online store and marketplace data
  • Existing spreadsheets, as a source during transition
  • Your own databases

How it can be customised

  • Measures chosen for your business and decisions
  • Access limited by branch, region, product or team
  • Power BI, Microsoft Fabric or a custom web dashboard
  • Mobile layouts for management who check figures on the move
  • Embedded inside a portal your team already uses
How to start

From first call to first module

The first module is usually built in 3 to 6 weeks. Durations depend on scope, integration complexity and how quickly access and decisions are available.

  1. 0145 min

    Free scoping call

We start from the decisions you make regularly and work back to the numbers that inform them.

  2. 023-5 days

    Source audit

Where the data lives, how clean it is and how it can be extracted. This sets a realistic timeline.

  3. 032-3 days

    Definitions workshop

Departments agree what each measure includes and excludes, in writing. This step prevents most dashboard failures.

  4. 043-6 weeks

    Build and validate

Pipeline and dashboards built, then figures reconciled against a known source until they match exactly.

Ask us directly
Power BI or a custom web dashboard?

Power BI suits teams that want to explore data themselves and already use Microsoft tools. A custom dashboard suits reporting that should live inside an application people already log into, or where per-user licences add up. We recommend based on your situation, and we build both.

How current will the data be?

Daily refresh is standard. Hourly or near real time is possible where source systems allow, with more work. The right answer depends on how quickly you can act on the information, which is usually slower than people first assume.

What if our data is inconsistent between systems?

That is normal and the source audit will surface it. Some inconsistencies we resolve in the pipeline; others need correcting at the source, and we will tell you which is which. A dashboard built on unexamined data loses credibility in its first week.

Can we start with one area rather than everything?

We recommend it. Start where decisions are most often delayed by missing information, usually sales or receivables. Prove the pipeline, build trust in the numbers, then extend.

What keeps it running after launch?

Power BI needs a licence per viewer from Microsoft; a custom dashboard needs hosting. Either way, source systems change over time, so refresh failures need watching. Our Cloud Hosting & Support service covers that, along with new measures as you ask for them.

Which number do your meetings argue about?

Tell us the decisions you make each week and where the figures come from. We will suggest the first dashboard and the definitions to agree before it is built.
